Washington, D.C. — Today, the Harper respondents, a group of North Carolina voters supported by the National Redistricting Foundation (NRF), submitted their supplemental letter brief to the Supreme Court of the United States in the case Moore v. Harper. To read the full brief click here.
“Legal experts from both sides of the aisle agree that the independent state legislature theory poses a great threat to our system of checks and balances,” said Marina Jenkins, the NRF’s Executive Director. “This case shouldn’t have been granted in the first place, but here we are. If the Court does issue a decision, it should only do so in order to conclusively shut the door on every version of this dangerous theory once and for all.”
