KravITZ v. U.S. Department of Commerce
The NRF supported a lawsuit challenging the Trump Administration’s addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 Census questionnaire. The complaint, filed on behalf of a group of individuals from multiple states, alleges that the inclusion of a citizenship question violates the Census Clause of the Constitution and the Administrative Procedure Act. On July 19, 2019, the district court issued a permanent injunction barring the administration from adding a citizenship question to the 2020 Census.
